Aqua and White Patterned Fish-Kinchaku

$25.00

This adorable lightweight bag is shaped and scaled like a fish! It makes me think it should be hanging from the wrist of a geisha or maiko wearing spring or early summer colors. Normally they carry hard-bottomed drawstring bags called Kinchaku.

This bag closes with a drawstring, and the string has handmade tassles at the end. The string and tassels are made of drapery cording, so it’s plain white, woven, and synthetic. The strap is 1″ wide and stiffened with buckram. All of the fabric in this fish-bag is from a fat-quarter set acquired second-hand. The eye is made of a furniture screw cover, with holes drilled in so that it could be sewn onto the bag.

Measures:
16″ long, 8″ wide at the tail, and 1″ thick laid flat
